Think Before You Drink: SRU provides bars and clubs with marketing materials, all displaying friendly and helpful tips for responsible drinking. All materials will carry our Safe Ride number and is designed to educate people towards planning their nights out ahead of time to avoid last minute drunk driving situations.

We can help you avoid drunk-driving in a unique and effective way.   Our current safe ride users and new users going out to SRU member restaurants, bars, or clubs call our 888 number and arrange to be picked up by SRU approved transportation from their house, delivered to their particular establishment and then back home later (eliminating the need to drive completely). The transportation is provided by a network of transportation affiliates at an extremely discounted rate to make it cost effective and appealing as an effective alternative to dunk-driving. What makes this most effective is that SRU works with the establishments to offer incentives for using safe rides. Incentives such as no cover charges at some of the most popular bars/clubs in the tri-sate along with avoiding to wait on lines. This is a simple and direct (practical) program that, thus far, has met with great success. But, we can and must do better!  

SRU is always working on creating and testing other safe ride models also such as local shuttles for bars. These new programs will be made available to the masses after trial periods are over and we have made sure all necessary changes have been made.  Please keep supporting us so that we can make more of these crucial and realisitic options available to you and your families.

College Students Make a difference and earn a scholarship!

Student Dispatcher Program:
Designed specifically to increase student involvement in preventing drunk driving. Volunteer students are required answer phone calls from would be drunk drivers. They present callers with all the safe ride options and help arrange a ride. This program exposes students to what options others and most importantly, they themselves have instead of driving drunk.

Safe Rides Unlimited Scholarship:
Every year Safe Rides Unlimited will hold a contest amongst students from different colleges. The objective would be to create a safe ride system for their fellow students and surrounding community members. They will be allowed access to all Safe Rides Unlimited tools and past program information in order to achieve their goals. The students that create the most effective safe ride system will receive scholarships. This contest will be open to students of all colleges. Any student or group of students that want to make a real difference and earn a scholarship can enter our contest!
